Hello Grandview!
I am excited to announce that, this week, I was officially certified as a candidate for the Grandview Heights School Board 2017 election. Between now and November I hope to meet many of you, learn how you view Grandview schools, and share a little bit more about myself and why I want to serve on the Grandview School Board.
This website will be a place where all those things can occur. Along with detailing my background and interests, I want this to be a place where people can share their thoughts, volunteer to assist with the campaign, and have a dialogue about our schools. Watch for more updates in the coming weeks.
Finally, below is the text of a letter I am sending to our Tri-Village News announcing the start of my campaign, but I am sharing it here first.
As a Grandview resident and parent, I want to serve our schools and contribute to our community. For that reason, I have declared my candidacy for the Grandview Heights City School Board.
I am a proud Bobcat parent to a rising first grader. Seeing the valuable opportunities he has experienced opened my eyes to the strengths of our school system. In addition, as an education professional, I also have seen how favorably our schools compare to others in Central Ohio. I am eager to join this school board to assist the teachers, administrators, students, parents, community partners, and others who help Grandview schools challenge and empower students to succeed. Along with recognizing all that our schools have achieved, I also recognize the potential for further growth and accomplishments. I would welcome the opportunity to help shape the future of our schools.
In the weeks before the election, I hope to hear from many of you about your thoughts and feelings concerning our schools. Community input is invaluable as we work together to build stronger schools. Please visit my website to learn more about my vision for Grandview schools and I hope that I can earn your support this November.
